KARACHI: Police on Friday arrested a senior leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan group, Gulfaraz Khattak, from a local antiterrorism court in Karachi.
Gulfaraz Khattak, a member of MQM Pakistan’s Coordination Committee, was wanted to police in two cases pertaining to provocative speech of August 22 by MQM founder Altaf Hussain.
Police said the accused, who has been shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation, was booked in the cases involving charges of treason, violence and attack on media houses in Karachi following Altaf Hussain’s anti-Pakistan speech.
Other two senior leaders of MQM Pakistan group – Amir Khan and Farooq Sattar – have also been nominated in the cases. –Newsmedialive.
